STEVEN JAMES TYLER (BA Hons) : DIRECTOR AND DESIGNER AT ERINCASTLE
Steven has had over eight years experience in property development after he gained a BA HONs
Degree - specalising in Spatial Design, at the prestigious Central Saint Martin's College in London.
Whilst still a student, his work was featured in the British design magazine "The Architect's Journal" and
since then he has etched out a successful designing career with numerous projects across London,
the UK and in the Republic of Ireland.
Steven has written articles for "Housebuilding & Renovation Magazine", "Country Life" and
"The Sligo Post".
He decided to put his degree and experience to good use and founded Erincastle Bespoke House
Design & Exterior Design Consultancy providing an exclusive service which includes advice
from exterior design improvement to quality bespoke house designs of unrivalled individuality
and character.
"The problem is there are more than enough Interior designers to advise
you there, but what about the Exterior of your property? Also, why do so many new build
homes look flawed or odd? Many Architects today just don't understand the simple rules
of proportion, get it wrong and an expensive new build can appear skewed; making it
look cheap, stunted and pastiche.
The same can happen to older buildings that are being remodeled, unfortunately there
are a lot of designers getting it wrong. With the correct understanding of the different
vernaculars and a little imagination, its possible to have an exciting new and modern
home on the inside that appears to be a cleaned up 'original' on the outside..."
